[ARCHIVED] Relocation of Asylum Seekers to the Hudson Valley

As most are already aware New York City has implemented a plan to relocate Asylum seekers to the Hudson Valley. As there is a lot of disinformation in situations of this nature, I would like to share the information we know. This past Sunday May 21 at 5pm between 60 - 80 migrants arrived at the Red Roof Inn on South Road with no prior notification. New York City did not offer up any other information about the asylum seekers.

The town does not have the resources to assist these individuals who can't work or support themselves at this time. They do not have transportation and it is not known how they will be receiving medical care. This will add to an already overtaxed health care, mental health and emergency response system.

NYC Mayor Adams stated that locations would receive prior notice before any arrivals occurred, this is not true. The Mayor's office has not been forthcoming with any information at all on this situation .The Mayor's office has not shared any information about the individuals or pr grams offered to them by the city.

The Federal government's immigration policy and lack of action has exacerbated this situation .New York State has not stepped in to assist in this situation except to provide some funding. This problem has been going on for quite some time now and the Federal government needs to address this issue immediately as it effects every American.

The town has taken legal action to not allow this action to continue.

Thank you.
