[ARCHIVED] Supervisor's Welcome Letter to New Website

Jon Jay is a longtime Town of Poughkeepsie resident, a leader, father, and local small business owner.  Over the past 5 years as supervisor, he has been committed to representing all Town of Poughkeepsie residents while restoring fiscal responsibility and efficient government practices.

Welcome to the Town of Poughkeepsie’s new website.   As you browse our site, I hope you will find it useful and informative.  We strive to deliver a tool that residents and visitors can use to find information about out Town operations, meetings, services, agendas, activities, news and events.

The town’s history, culture opportunities, shopping and diversity make the town a wonderful place to live, work, play, and educate your family and call home.

The town has been the center of growth for Dutchess County.   We are one of the most desirable locations for residential and commercial development in the Hudson Valley.   It is a top priority to maintain a strong economy.  The town’s accredited Police Department and 3 Fire Departments (2 paid and volunteer) work together to keep our residents and visitors alike safe.

The town is the county’s largest town in town which includes part of the Village of Wappingers Falls, several hamlets in the town which is New Hamburg, Rochdale, Fairview, Red Oaks Mill and Arlington.

Town’s top priority is to provide the highest quality of life with maintaining a financially feasible budget.  I also welcome ideas, thoughts and individual concerns from our residents and visitors.  Continued outreach will make the town a better place to live, work, play and educate.

Thank you for visiting our website today!
