The mission of the Human Resources Department is to facilitate communication regarding town employment, enhance compliance with employment laws and regulations, and efficiently administer Human Resources services including;

  • Supervisory and Employee Training and Development

The Human Resources Department strives to provide interested candidates with easy access to information on how to obtain employment in our town government. Job vacancies for entry-level positions are filled either by Civil Service examinations, advertisements, or screening applications on file with the Human Resources Department. You can also obtain an application in-person by stopping in the Human Resources Department located in Town Hall or emailing your request to the Human Resources Department. Resumes are encouraged and should be attached to the application.

Civil Service Examinations

Vacancies for competitive class positions are filled through civil service examinations. For more information regarding this process, you should contact the Dutchess County Personnel Department.

Positions in the labor, non-competitive, and exempt class do not require an examination.

If your interested to serve on one of the town boards, please be sure to contact our Human Resources Department.  We have available positions for the following:

  • Planning Board Alternate Member
  • Zoning Board Alternate Member

Volunteer positions are available to town residents only.


Non-paid internships are available for college students looking to earn credits or experience working with the Township.  Current Internships available with

  • Recreation
